Ideas for solo travel from Pennsylvania
Hi! First post here, so let me know if I've made any mistakes. I got into solo travel last year when I taught English in Spain, and did a lot of Europe on my own. I've been back in the US since July and the travel bug certainly hasn't left me. Over the course of the months I've traveled to Baltimore, DC, throughout Delaware (I was dating someone who lived in Wilmington), the shore points in NJ, Charlotte NC (family is there), Boston, and Portland. Boston and Portland were totally new to me and I loved both! I'm starting graduate school in the fall so I'm hoping to get some weekend trips in before September and hopefully trips a bit farther away during my fall break and after finals. I'm looking for suggestions, but here's what I have planned/have in mind:
-visiting a friend in Winchester, Virginia for the Apple blossom festival (next week, planned) -Albany, Quebec, and Montreal in a few weeks (planned/booked)
Not planned but interested: -Salem, MA Providence, RI -Burlington VT -Cape Cod MA -Somewhere in WV (I've never visited beyond quick hotel stays) -Pittsburgh PA -Somewhere in NH to hike (probably fall)
The two farther away trips I haven't thought out yet, but a friend and I have been talking about visiting Austin Texas during my fall break.
Any suggestions on when to do these trips/how long/other places are welcome! I'm planning on driving since I'm saving my credit card miles for a flight to Alaska to visit a friend. Thank you in advance.
