I see a lot of new and experienced trippers and I think you are missing out on some incredibly useful tools. All are available on Google play store: 1. Truckers path - I know most of you don't drive semis across the country, like I do, but this resource is invaluable! Truck stops are some of the safest places, this app will also tell you where rest areas are and every link to Google maps if you want. 2. Truck stop apps - Where truck stops are concerned, I prefer Love's and Sapp Bros over all others! Most of the major chain places have an app that tells you everything you need to know about locations, amenities, parking availability, even showers! All major truck stops over rewards programs that have been a life saver to me, look into those. There are truck stops everywhere, most people aren't aware of how many there are... And there aren't enough in most places, go figure. 3. If in doubt, invest in either a handheld cb or download an app to your phone or tablet. Truckers love to bs and talk smack to each other, but when in a jam, they will help you if they can. The cb is the best way to communicate with most of us out here. Most of us use channel 19 to talk to each other. (Yes, I have CBs in my personal vehicles, just like my semi) Feel free to ask any questions you want, I've got several million safe miles under my belt and I'm always happy to be of assistance when I can.
