Four Weeks Free in Europe - Where Should I Go?
Hello Everyone!
I will be going to Europe this June for 50 days - fly into Milan, Italy, fly out of Barcelona, Spain. I have the first 20 or so planned out (see below), first traveling with a friend and then visiting family. After that, I'm on my own! I have some ideas for what I want to do, but there are just so many options. What do you all think I should do with the remaining time? Any must-see places?
The current itinerary:
Fly in to Milan (1 night)
Florence (3 nights)
Rome (3-4 nights)
Prague (3 nights)
Berlin (2 nights)
Copenhagen (3 nights)
My friend leaves from Copenhagen
Malmo (3 nights, visiting family)
Switzerland (5 nights Zurich, Lucerne, visiting family)
This puts me right around July 4th, with my flight leaving from Barcelona on August 1st. After Switzerland, I can go anywhere I want. Some plans I am considering are to take it slow (maybe just travel the Iberian Peninsula more in depth), or see as much of the continent as I can (perhaps some central Europe, France, the UK, and then Spain). I am even considering doing some kind of workaway or wwoofing.
A little about me: I am a 22 year old guy just graduating from undergrad. This trip is going to be a pretty budget trip (mostly hostels and cheap Airbnbs), but I have enough saved to do see all the things and do all the activities that I want to (I care way more about being able to do and see amazing things rather than staying in a nice hotel). I absolutely love seeing different cultures and historical places. I have done some solo traveling before in Peru and had the time of my life. The only other European country I have been to is the Netherlands. I'd love any input you may have/itineraries that worked for you!
