Feeling totally uninspired, looking for suggestions
Hey! I'm a pretty seasoned solo traveler, f/mid 30s. I'm in the US (mid Atlantic & new England) and alternate summers (June/July/August) between roadtrips and international travel. So far I've covered (in backwards chronological order): Utah/Colorado, Bolivia, Alberta/Pacific Northwest, Spain/Morocco, Eastern seaboard from keys to cape Breton, Poland/Ukraine, rt 10/20 coast to coast, and SEA. I also lived in the US Southwest for years.
So, this is supposed to be an "international" year for me, but I'm willing to mix things up, if someone has a better suggestion. I'm really into hiking and anything outdoors, I'm not into partying or anything like that. My travel style is pretty slow and I usually spend a minimum of 5 days in one location.
I had some tentative plans with a friend for Australia/Indonesia but they fell through, and I'm not really feeling that as a solo trip. I've considered Iceland, Mongolia, Kenya/Tanzania, India, and the Balkans, but nothing is really jumping out at me. Part of my problem was that Bolivia was amazing but difficult, and I got very very sick while there, and I'm a lot older than when I started traveling... I'm just, not feeling anything.
What I'm looking for is a "you HAVE to do this!", and maybe some reasons why. Honestly any recommendations would help. Thank you!
