Experienced Solo Traveler seeking advice on next adventure
Hey all, hoping to garner some advice, suggestions, and hear some of your travel stories that will assist my decisionmaking regarding where I should go next (in July 2019)
Background: In my early 20's I spent over a year backpacking solo around the world living the vagabond lifestyle and loving every minute of it. I went to over 30+ countries hitting all continents but Antartica. I woke up every day with a smile on my face.
I'm in my late 20's now, been to about 50 countries total: - North America: USA, Canada, Mexico, Honduras many Caribbean countries - South America: Brazil and Argentina - Africa: South Africa - Europe: England, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, Iceland, Switzerland - Asia: Israel, India, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan - Oceania: Australia & NZ
My stipulations: I have 2/3 weeks in Mid July-beg August I am looking to go somewhere off the beaten path, somewhere I haven't been to before (some countries like India have only been to a small area, Rajasthan, so the rest of the country is available...) I would rather go slow and fully experience the culture and region I am in versus stop in as many cities as possible and tick off countries. A mix of urban to rural areas would be preferred. I am big foodie, history buff, who is very outdoorsy and eager for an adventure. However, I am looking for a week during this trip where I can relax and reflect in a beautiful, serene area. Any coastal areas where a beachy vibe could be had would be extra desirable as I am escaping the southern hemisphere's winter.
Current ideas: portugal/morocco OR Russia/China on transiberian railroad OR Sri Lanka OR Colombia OR Mozambique/Tanzania
please share any advice, suggestions, or travel stories you may have, cheers!
