Dropping everything and buying a one way ticket to Guatemala?
I'm just about to turn 29 and have been at my (now) well paying job for 10 years and am sick of it, my city and my country. I've been thinking about it for nearly two years now and am soooo close to buying my ticket.
I'm planning to quit my start getting rid of my stuff and quit my job so I can leave to Guatemala in April. By then, I'll have about 50-60k aussie dollars saved up including leave + long service payout.
The reason I'm choosing Guatemala is because of their Spanish schools and it'd be an ideal gateway to the rest of Central and South America. I'm aware of the political situation.
Country selection aside, would I be making a mistake? Hoping to last at least a year or two.
