Egypt, Jordan, Israel & West bank Questions
Hi, I'm (23F) really interested in traveling in the middle east. I specifically want to visit Eqypt, Jordan, and Israel and the West Bank.
Out of concerns for logistics and safety, I was considering doing this tour https://www.intrepidtravel.com/us/egypt/real-egypt-jordan-118737 for egypt and jordan and then travel through Israel and The West Bank solo. I have traveled somewhat extensively solo before, but have read that Egypt in particular can be difficult as a solo woman. I also tend to attract a lot of attention abroad as I am a tall blonde woman.
The tour ends in Amman. From there I would take a bus to Jerusalem and the ideally travel for a week on my own in Israel and the West Bank, then fly home from Tel Aviv.
One of my questions is- Intrepid also offers a tour that includes Egypt, Jordan and Israel- but it is about $2,000 more to include Israel. Is the extra $2,000 worth it? I feel like I can do a week there on my own for much less (staying in hostels and taking buses), but I also am aware that Israel can get expensive. Ideally my budget for the week in Israel would be $1,000 for accommodation, travel in country and food plus any activities I want to do.
My other question is how much time is too much in Israel? I've been comparing flight prices with the end of the tour dates, and in order to get an affordable flight back to California from Tel Aviv, I will either need to spend almost two weeks there or only 3-4 days. I've been using skyscanner and google flights to compare prices.
In addition, if anyone has any insight in traveling these countries, particularly as a solo woman, or any experience with Intrepid, please let me know! Thank you.
