Berlin vs. Istanbul for a 3 day trip
Hello, I will be traveling through Europe with my friends this summer and have two-three nights in late May to travel on my own. I was looking around for cheap flights out of Amsterdam to cities I think would be interesting to travel to solo and narrowed it down (mostly due to cost) to Berlin and Istanbul. For context, I will have just graduated college and am looking for a place that is easily walkable/accessible via public transportation, has unique sites to visit and has good food. I will also be visiting Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Athens + Mykonos, Rome, Prague, Budapest and Paris on this trip, so I'm looking to settle on an additional place that might offer different things to do than the aforementioned ones.
Berlin: Seems great for walking around, learning about history. Worried about what to do at night on my own (don't imagine I'd be hitting nightclubs solo)
Istanbul: Sites and food look amazing, just worried about whether I would have enough time to (properly) do Istanbul, and also cautious about safety and traveling there in the summer
Which do you think would be better for a solo trip (I'd be flying out of Amsterdam 5/25 and have to fly into Madrid 5/27 or 5/28)? Anything helps, so please let me know what you think!
