After a year of planning, I leave to solo travel the world!
A year ago I was broke as shit, and worked right out of college at 2 dead end jobs. I slowly found myself suffocating underneath the mediocrity and complacency of my hometown (I’ve lived here all my life).
I always had a dream of doing something big like a world expedition, so a year ago I decided to get serious and start saving every single penny I could. I also started trying to build a skill set that would allow me to work digitally so that I’m able to travel and work wherever I’m at.
I managed to save 10k in a year (after budgeting every single thing) and 3 months ago received an offer to work in a digital marketing position.
I leave in 4 days to Miami, and then Turkey for a couple of months. After that I have no idea (maybe Greece? Budapest? - I’m open to suggestions lol)
I plan on filming and doing photography/video work in a vlog style format to document my experiences too. I’m super excited since this is the first time I’m ever going to be abroad solo!
if you’re lurking like I did for a while on this subreddit. I started with absolutely no experience, money, and depression. These posts definitely influenced me and I learned a ton, so I wanted to post my story and say A big THANK YOU to this community. It’s definitely possible BUT ONLY if you take it serious enough to do it.
