Advice for trip to NYC?
I'm visiting New York mid-May for 2 days. Since this is my first time travelling solo, I wanted to ask for some advice. Specifically, I was wondering...
- Should I stay in Astoria (41st) or Brooklyn (Bushwick or Bed-Stuyvesant )? I founded AirBnB places in both locations for about the same price (about $50 per night), but I wasn't sure which place is (a) safer, especially at night and (b) closer to Manhattan.
- I am directionallly challenged and have not used public transportation by myself before... Any tips / general info on the NY public transit? I'm scared about getting lost and staying safe.
- Two days is a pretty short time period, so I was planning to focus on three activities: eating, museum-seeing, and theater performance attending. General advice on how to find good food would be much appreciated. Also, if you have any tips on getting affordable tickets for any museums or theater performances, please let me know!
- How to stay safe? I'm a young female, and because this is my first time travelling alone, I'm pretty scared about this trip. Any warnings / don't do's to stay safe?
