A week on my own in Norway - Lofoten vs Stavanger?
Hi all,
I have a week free to myself in Norway prior to meeting up with family and continuing on with them. Two areas we won't be covering in our group trip are Lofoten and Stavanger, and both look really appealing to me. My main interest is hiking (either day hikes or hut to hut), but I'd also enjoy poking around the towns and meeting other travellers. Ideally I'd like to stay at hostels (or huts), but I understand that may be difficult the further north you go. It also seems like most people recommend renting a car for Lofoten.
Is there one you would recommend over the other? Is one more ideal for a solo traveller? I need to start and end in Oslo and this would be in early June. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
