Hey guys!

So I just booked my ticket to Southeast Asia. I'm going to be staying for about 5 months, from September to February. It'll be my first time in Southeast Asia, and the first time I've solo travelled for this long. I'm flying in and out of Bangkok, with no real itinerary.

About me: I love history, culture, and nature. I don't mind touristy things, but I also want to do some off the beaten path type things too. I'm not super athletic, but I can manage a hike or two just fine. I also cannot swim.

  1. Any recommendations on where I should go? I really want to go to Vietnam and Bali, but other than that I have no solid plans. There are lots of countries that intrest me in the region, but what's worth travelling to in my timeframe? I like spending more than a week at a time in a city.
  2. How much money should I have for this length of time? I want to travel cheap, but I also want to be comfortable and have a good time. Visas I don't think should cost much (my Canadian passport can get me into most countries without a visa)
  3. Also to fellow female solo travellers, how did you find travelling SEA by yourself?

Any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated!
