Thinking of converting a van and travelling from Chicago to Panama City, Panama and back from Nov-Apr this year with my dog. had some questions for those who've done it:

​

  1. The obvious- if you're not staying in a hotel/motel is it still safe to drive through guatemala, honduras and nicaragua?
  2. How much money do you think someone will need for 6 months? Outside gas and food i don't see myself buying anything or doing expensive
  3. Any tips, recommendations, etc.?
  4. Anyone want to come with ?
