Trying to see too much during Mexico trip?
Hello fellow travelers,
I'm heading to Mexico in a few days for my first solo trip. Not including travel days, I have 5 full days to explore the Yucatan/Riviera Maya. My original plan was to spend most of the time in Tulum, but the major seaweed problem going on there has led me to decide to split my time between multiple locations.
I've already locked in plans to spend 1-2 days on Isla Mujeres when I arrive. Then I will drive to Tulum. I was going to just spend the rest of my time there despite the seaweed, but I have been reading that Bacalar is amazing and is a must see. It's a 2 and a half hour drive down to Bacalar from Tulum. I am considering doing 1-2 days on Isla Mujeres, 1-2 in Tulum and 1-2 in Bacalar.
Since this is my first solo trip, I'm excited about having the freedom to go wherever I want whenever I want. But I'm also nervous about it. I don't know when or if I will make it back to this part of the world so I don't want to regret missing Bacalar. But I don't want to overwhelm myself either.
If any experienced solo travelers can lend some advice, I would really appreciate it!
