So I've never traveled outside the country before. I read that onwards tickets are required for travel to other countries, and this seems really expensive. I did some research and it seems I can just buy or hold an onwards ticket for 24 hours, then get it cancelled and refunded... So this means I still pay for the ticket to the country, but just not the return ticket back home? And are there any solutions to fly to Germany on the cheap, like a GoFundMe or a cheap ticket-seller online?

I'm basically wanting to go there to find work, and plan to do it soon-ish.
