I'm planning my first trip to Europe (London for 9 days in June/July) and I'm currently looking at places to stay. There's no way I can afford even a cheap hotel and I have a choice of a few decent hostels with really good prices.

The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is the supposed safety risks. I'm sure I'm exaggerating but there's still the “what if?” running in the back of my mind. The only option after that is an AirBnb but I'm more introverted and the forced socialization of a hostel would do me some good.

FWIW, I'm looking at Generator, Clink261 and Palmer's Lodge Hillspring. I'm open to recommendations too!
