Solo Trip to Rome in June! (First Solo)
Hey y'all, wanted to share with you my iteniary for my first ever fully Solo trip to Rome this year.
I've grappled for a long time over where I wanted to go, and Rome checked all my boxes. I've been before for just a day about 10 years ago when I was in High School, so it will be nice to re-experience the city now that I've had a chance to mature. I'm taking paid time-off from my job as a line cook, I'm 27 years old and plan to walk basically everywhere.
Day 0 & 1 (TRAVEL)
-
Fly from AUS-CHI @ 9am
-
Fly from CHI-FCO @ 4pm
-
Land at FCO @ 8:30 am
-
Pick up Roma Pass @ Airport | Take the Express Train to Rome
-
Check into AirBnB @ 10 am ($45 a night for a complete apartment with private bath, kitchen, and wifi. Located about 10 minutes walk from both Vatican and Pantheon.)
-
Pick up tickets at box office for Coliseum and Roman Forum @ 11 am. The rest of this day is unscheduled but I plan to explore all around the Coliseum area for the day, don't want to be too far from my apartment in case nature calls.
Day 2
- Unscheduled
Day 3
- Unscheduled (Might be a good day for the Appian Way)
Day 4 (Vatican)
-
Arrive at Vatican for guided tour at 8:45 am
-
St. Peters after Vatican tour
-
Vatican by sunset tour @ 5:30 pm. Will cover areas not accessed by normal tour. Its a Friday night so I expect this to be a little more intimate.

- Normal day trip iteniary, this is a guided hop on/off tour. Should take about 12 hours.
Day 6 (TRAVEL)

So, what do y'all think? Can't wait to read your feedback!
