SF > Houston advice
So I'm relocating to Houston, and I'm debating how to get there, seeking advice. Google maps says it's a 28 hour/ 1900 mile drive, and I have access to a bed in Orange County CA and Phoenix, but east of there is uncharted territory. I'm not looking to see the sights, just to get there
How far do you drive in a day? Should I cut it up into 5 ~400 mile segments? I also feel like it's going to take forever at this pace, could I cover more distance?
Currently I'm looking at
SF Bay > South OC, 6.5 hrs
South OC> Phoenix 6 hr
Visiting friends, day of rest
Phoenix > El Paso 6 hr
El Paso > San Antonio 7.5 hr
San Antonio > Houston 3 hr.
I could also make it in a 12hr / break/ 6 hr / 12 hour if I cut out South OC and San Antonio but that does seem like a bit much. I'm young but I've made the solo trip to from the Bay area to the OC with no problem, but I don't have much experience with long drives.
