I'm doing a month and half in SE Asia, mainly hitting Vietnam, Laos and possibly Thailand. I'm realizing I have time to go to one more place for 1-2 weeks.

I'm seeing how Seoul or Tokyo are so close and they're both places I've wanted to see (seeing it's roughly $150-250 for a one way flight from Thailand), so I'm thinking I'll end my trip in one of those places.

Downside is that they're both quite pricey to visit, and I'm not sure which place would be better for a solo traveller like me. Which city did you personally enjoy, in terms of solo travel, food, hostels, etc.?
