Salzburg - Hallstatt
I'll be in Salzburg for a few days in late March and I was wondering if taking a day trip to Hallstatt would be worth it. I'd like to leave Salzburg in the early morning, spend the day in Hallstatt, and return to salzburg later that same night. Is this feasible? Also, I looked up transportation and I was wondering which would be the best way to get to Hallstatt and back to Salzburg (other options welcome as well):
A) Bus 150 to Bad Ischl, train from Bad Ischl to Hallstatt railway station, ferry across the lake to the village.
B) Train to Attnang Puchheim, train from Attnang Puchheim to Hallstatt railway station, ferry across the lake to the village.
C) Bus 150 to Bad Ischl, bus 542 heading to Gosau and switch to bus 543.
