Reccomendations for Malaysia
F 18, first time travelling solo in SEA.
I have 3 more months to travel (or until the money runs out), and I'm not sure how to go about planning my Malasia trip. This has been my trip so far: Bangkok-Phuket-Koh phi phi and other islands-Krabi-Chiang Mai-Pai-Singapore. I'm going to Jakarta for a couple of days next, might hit Bali as well if I feel like it.
The problem is that I'm not sure what to do after that. I want to visit Malaysia but I'm afraid to only see the main tourist spots, or to see amazing undiscovered places but not meet any fellow travellers. I'll definetly see Kuala Lumpur, and Penang, but haven't decided on the rest yet. I really liked Pai in Thailand for the shabby backpacker atmosphere and the combo of good partying and beautiful, quiet rural areas around. Made some good friends there, and almost didnt want to leave. I'd love to know if anyone has had a good experience like that in Malaysia, hostel reccomendations for Kuala Lumpur or any other thing I shouldn't miss.
