Glacier NP hitchhiking?
hey all, i was searching the sub for general tips on glacier np, especially arriving/departing via the amtrak empire builder. i know generally that this np is pretty popular in the summer (going in mid-june so right before the season really hits peak tourism, i believe), and it looks like east glacier park village could be kind of a hub.
can anyone speak to whether there's a hiker/backpacker vibe in this area? how feasible might it be to hitch a ride/split a car rental with a rando? i want to get around the park efficiently but if possible, i'd like to cut down my costs and also not go it totally alone, what with all the bear spray-related advice i've seen. i feel like except on the AT or PCT or CD or yellowstone or other huge destinations, it's probably unlikely that a hiker town has this kind of vibe in the u.s., but i'm hoping east glacier would be a big enough attraction to be like this.
