Concerns about heat/humidity for June/July deep south road trip
My main concern is oppressive heat and humidity.
More specific concerns:
-
Will night camping on national forests (either in a tent or in a car) be impossible due to the heat? How bad is it in the evenings?
-
Will outdoor activities such as hiking be impossible due to the heat? Is it possible to, for example, begin a hike before the sun rises, take a break from 12-4 in a shady spot, and finish the hike in the evening?
If any locals or people who have done the trip before can answer, that would be awesome.
