Scoot, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific, Viet Jet, etc. How strict are these airlines when it comes to carry-on luggage in international flights within the region? 7kg that fits into their bin seems to be the limit on paper for most, but I regularly see travelers with huge backpacks on domestic flights. I'm planning to travel for a month and have a 55L backpack (North Face Yaiza). How fucked am I going to be if the check-in counter or boarding gate insists that I have to check it in? Should I just pre-pay to check it for all flights just to be safe?
