Can I travel Asia with 7kg hand luggage? (+Don Mueang Airport)
So I was thinking of making my first backpack travel to Asia and I have been thinking about the luggage options.
I found a great bag that is hand luggage compatible in size (farpoint 40, Osprey) but I'm not sure about the weight limit.
I would fly to Bangkok with Thai Airways or Norwegian, who both allow hand luggage of 10kg. However when I'm in Bangkok there are plenty of low cost airlines like "AirAsia", "Vietjet", "NokAir" etc. These are all very affordable but only allow 7kg of luggage. I'm afraid that I might not be able to make it on only 7kg and I can't really try since I haven't bought the backpack yet.
So what is your advice from people that have traveled like this? Will 7kg be enough? I mean I'm kind of eliminating the point of buying a small hand luggage bag if I will have to take expensive airlines that sämske me pay for checked-in luggage anyway if I can't meet the 7kg limit.
Also, anyone has experience with flying from Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok? Mist low cost airlines fly from here and I wonder if it's a struggle and costly to get the from the main airport in Bangkok and the city?
