advice for 2 week trip through central europe from sweden
Hi guys! I will have around two weeks this summer to travel flying out from Stockholm, and was thinking Central Europe due to price. Top on my list is to visit Slovenia; however, from preliminary research there seem to be no budget airlines with hubs in that area, that fly into/out of Stockholm. So my question for you guys is where should I head after Slovenia, so that I can catch a budget flight back to Sweden?
What I'm thinking for my travel route so far is this:
- Krakow, Poland (2-3 days)
- Prague, Czech Republic (2 days)
- Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic (1 day)
- Lake Bled, Slovenia (2 days)
- Ljubljana, Slovenia (3 days)
I'm thinking Zagreb next (really interested in seeing Plitvice Lakes), but where to after that?
About me, I'm decently well traveled and have already been to Austria and Hungary, and would rather visit places I haven't been. Within Europe, I've also already been to Denmark, UK, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey (been to 25 countries total otherwise)
In terms of travel style, I would likely be going solo (female) and sticking with hostels and trains/buses to get around. Upper end of my budget is 1000USD for two weeks, but I'd rather stay around $600-700 if possible. I definitely travel on the faster side (don't get much time off from work/school, and won't in the future). In terms of what sorts of things I'm interested in seeing, I enjoy unique, picturesque nature and light hiking (not super outdoorsy), art & design, exploring beautiful cities...etc. And since female, safety is always a concern! Basically looking to see things that are different from what I've seen before (for example, wouldn't be interested in beaches for the sake of going to a beach, unless the surrounding area was really unique)
Thanks for all your help :)
