What are the best ways to connect and find places to stay in return for work? Also, if you had this kind of experience how it went?
I’m a very excited Brazilian a few months away of getting my Italian citizenship and European passport. This give me a HUGE range of options and places to go, and before that with a Brazilian passport, it would be to difficult and/or expensive to travel abroad, especially with our currency not being too strong in most of the world (I did some research, and some places the bureaucracy to get the visa is as expensive as the airline tickets). I’m planning on traveling somewhere in two years; I still don’t have a destiny set in stone. I was thinking in somewhere in Asia, because i want to have a culture shock and be able to have options on a budget. I read about a website that connects people with places that offer a place to stay in exchange for work, but I can’t find this site anywhere on the web. What are the best ways to plan a trip using these options? Are they good experiences or you end overworked without a chance to know the place and the culture? I’m a filmmaker and photographer, I also can do a bit of design, but I’m open to do almost any kind of work that would provide a decent place to stay during these trips, even more if offers a authentic experience of the culture of this place.
