Solo trip to Europe in July. Have a few questions.
Hey everyone,
I'm planning a Euro trip July 3rd-23rd with a budget of ~$4.5k. Here's my anticipated itinerary:
- July 3: Flight out of US to Berlin
- July 4-8: Berlin
- July 9: Train from Berlin to Krakow (about 9 hours - will lose day for travel)
- July 10-12: Krakow
- Evening of July 12: Night train from Krakow to Budapest
- July 13-17: Budapest
- July 18: Early flight from Budapest to Brussels, then travel to Boom
- July 18-21: Tomorrowland
- July 22: Recovery day in Brussels
- July 23: Flight back to US
There's a cheap flight from Berlin (Tegel) to Krakow on July 9th but it is at 8am. How early would I have to arrive at the airport to make this flight? I'm still leaning towards taking the train so I don't have to rush out of a hostel early in the morning.
For the overnight train from Krakow to Budapest, I noticed the sleeping cabins are 1 to 4 beds. How safe are the cabins with multiple beds? Is there a place to lock up my valuables?
I'm consider visiting Switzerland instead of Berlin. Would this stress my budget? I would stay there for the same length as my planned time in Berlin.
Last, does anyone have any additional advice for my trip? Thank you.
