Solo Female in Beirut - Am I Crazy?
Hey!
I'm a 19 year old female from Scandinavia and I've booked a trip to Beirut, Lebanon in April! I am super excited, but also pretty nervous, since it is the most "advanced" place I've travelled alone to (in terms of infrastructure, public transport etc.). I have solo travelled before to Israel/Palestine, Croatia and South Africa (sort of, I did volunteer work so everything was quite arranged. Still had to manage a few challenging situations alone in the country).
I'm just wondering, is there anything I should think about as a solo female traveller regarding Lebanon? Will I be safe? Any tips on what to do? (Not sure if these questions are against the "being lazy" rule. I have read up, just looking for different opinions).
Also, I've been to Israel twice. There is no evidence in my passport, but if the border officer were to ask if I've been, what should I reply? I would feel quite uncomfortable lying to an officer like that, but if other people do it with repercussions..
