Should I spend $3,000 on Son Doong?
I am really on the fence about this. For those of you who don’t know, Son Doong is the world’s largest cave, and there is one single agency which gives tours through it. It’s a 5 day expedition that’s full of adventure, and you’re in a group of up to 10 people (plus everyone guiding you). This same agency offers shorter, much less expensive trips to other caves in the area (Vietnam) which are worth doing, but I feel like I’d be missing out on something great if I did those.
For context, I’m a 23 year old who has saved a substantial amount of money, (This is not a humble brag), and I will basically be getting paid to attend college starting next year for a STEM degree. The reason why I am saying that is because I feel like I wouldn’t have to worry about money in the future, so why not spend it on an experience like this? That’s what most of my spending money goes to, is experiences.
If you were in my shoes, what would you do? I’m always nervous when I drop a load of money this big on something..
