Hi Redditors, I just lost my job, got an ok severance, have always wanted to learn Spanish, and like good food...so figured why not go to Oaxaca right?

I’m taking my first solo trip (f33) to Oaxaca City for 3wks (March 4-26) I’m kinda crapping my pants - cuz I barely speak Spanish - but I am taking Spanish conversational classes while I’m there.

Essentially I want to get the best I can out of the experience, and force myself out of my comfort zone (I have travelled a lot; all over Asia, Europe, bit in the Middle East - and have been to Mexico City) but being alone feels very...different.

So any overall tips on: A) travelling solo and not speaking the language AND/OR B) Oaxaca City must see/eat/do/things to know would be greatly appreciated! Xoxo
