Need to plan solo long weekend before the end of March
Just realized I have a flight credit I need to use before April begins. It’s like 500 or 600 so I don’t want it to go to waste. I don’t think I can take a full week off of work but was thinking of doing a long weekend (4-5 days total with days on either side of a weekend) somewhere. I don’t mind traveling a fairly long way for a short trip - I always find it to be worth it when I look back.
Ideally though, wherever I go won’t be too far from an airport and isn’t too complicated or expensive to get there from the airport. Somewhere good for solo travel. I’ll be coming from San Francisco.
I am wondering if there’s anywhere in Mexico or Central America somewhat near an airport. I’ve been loving exploring Mexico (not all inclusive type trips, but visiting towns and exploring the culture and scenery), but a lot of the smaller cities I’ve yet to visit don’t have good flights for March. I could fly into Puerto Vallarta and do Yelapa (I’ve already done Sayulita). Was also thinking I could do just one city in Colombia if I find ok flights.
I could also do Hawaii, but I think it’d be pretty expensive to do by myself and I might need a rental car to get the most out of it. Not opposed to Europe or Asia if there was a reasonable direct flight, but most of what I found is way over the amount my credit covers.
Anyway - what am I not thinking of? Where should I go???
