Hardest thing you find doing?
I'm currently in Marseille doing my first solo trip and I find it really hard to order food. I'm 24m from south east asia and have very little knowledge in the french language. It's not so much about figuring out what to buy but more of communicating what you want and then replying to whatever it is that they're saying. I have absolutely no worries about doing everything else alone as you don't exactly have to communicate in the native language. I don't mind eating alone, exploring the city alone, anything else really. I just can't help but feel like whoever it is that's taking my order would feel exasperated that I can't speak french.
Any tips on how I can overcome this 'irrational' fear? Anything else you guys find tough doing in a foreign country?
