Critique my Southeast Asia Itinerary!
Hello! I am looking to the experts on this sub for some guidance on my initial Southeast Asia itinerary. I will be going through Thailand with a friend for two-ish weeks and then splitting off with her to travel through Laos and Vietnam solo, before returning to Thailand to get my diving certification on Koh Tao solo as well and moving onward to Bali. I know it seems a kind of jumbled but I had to do that due to my friend's time constraints.
Edit: Beginning in early August, traveling through September and part of October.
Bangkok (4 days)
Koh Phangan (5 days)
Bangkok (1 day - Transit)
Chiang Mai (3 days - I will be coming back here for a TEFL course afterward so that is why this is such a short time)
Luang Prabang (3 days - I plan to take the slow boat here)
Vang Vieng (2 days)
Vientiane (1 day)
Hanoi (3 days)
Cat Ba / Ha Long (3 days)
Sapa (3 days)
Hoi An (3 days)
HCMC (3 days)
Bangkok (Transit)
Koh Tao (6 days - PADI Cert.)
Bangkok (transit)
Bali (7 days - throughout Island)
Questions -
Any hostel recommendations for each location that are well fit for a solo traveler?
Any must-adds or things I should eliminate based on your experience?
Any recommendations for things to do in each place (interests = nature, food, authentic tours to experience local life)
