First Solo Trip: Peru!
I (19/F) have always wanted to travel the world. I got a job and parents said they’d travel with me if I saved enough money. When the time came, and I had about $2500 saved, they said they couldn’t this year but that next summer might be a good time. I got tired of waiting for others so I booked my first solo trip to Peru. My flight arrives to Lima very early morning of Thursday, May 16th and I have 8 full days to explore. I guess what I wanted to ask was if I should spend most of my time in Cusco as I was planning? Or is there any other places you’d recommend visiting? I was thinking about taking a flight out from Lima to Cusco that same morning of my arrival, soend a few days in that area, and fly back to Lima with enough time to relax there for a day or two. I wanna see Machu Picchu(obviously), the Rainbow mountains, and I want to hike. But I wanna know what other beautiful sights I should look for! And how well in advance should I purchase tickets to any tours/attractions? I also came across something called PeruHop and it seems nice, especially for my first time traveling solo. I am a native Spanish speaker but I’d still like some help getting around, and I dont know if this out of 1st time anxiety or if Im right to want someone to hold my hand through this trip.
Any advice is appreciated!
