Hi all!

I was wondering whether anyone else has had a negative experience in a destination but then returned.

For context, last year I travelled to Krakow with a group of friends and for a number of reasons it went horribly. It all culminated in a very ugly fall out, I plunged into depression and my friendship with them has never recovered.

I feel like this experience tainted Krakow for me because the main thing I remember is how awful I felt whilst I was there. I don't want to feel this way because taking that whole ordeal out of equation, I found the city really charming. I guess you could say I want to overwrite the negative feelings I associate with it with more positive ones.

Has anyone had a similar experience and been back to a place that holds bad memories? Was the result positive or did it just bring back the bad memories?
