Hey all-

My wife has been dying to see the big trees since coming to California. So I'm taking a day off for a 3day mini trip. We might leave Thursday evening to get the most of this.

Anyhow, I'd love to see any suggestions of what to do along this strip. Is there a fantastic lunch spot, or dinner spot? Aside from the park - any other touristy or not touristy spots to spend a few hours?

Also, I don't know if I'm crazy but was thinking of doing a big loop rather than a run up the 101 and back. Something like this route :

101N to the big trees :-)

Continue up to CA-36E

5S near Red Bluff

505S -> 80W ...etc
