A week in Vietnman, Thailand, or Bali in December?
Hi guys! I just got back from my first real month long solo-trip to Japan and the Philippines and it was incredible! I made a few mistakes along the way, but I feel I've learned a lot and I'm already planning my next trip to either Vietnam, Thailand, or Bali!
I'll most likely be going late December, and I'd just like some suggestions on which of these countries would fit me and some suggestions on a certain route to take/cities to stay in? (19F btw)
I'm mainly looking to seeing waterfalls, temples, forests, local villages, and maybe visiting some animal sanctuaries? I'm only looking to going to sanctuaries that treat the animals well (i.e. places where elephants are not ridden and tourists can only watch and play with them)
Also, for accommodations I'm trying to stay low-budget, staying in female dorms in hostels and maybe cheap hotels (max $30 a night). I want to pick one place to stay in for the week and treat it as a sorta home base where I'll keep luggage and souvenirs, and I'll just make day trips to places. Is this a good idea? Or should I switch hostels every couple days? I just really disliked wasting so much time traveling from accommodation to accommodation during my last solo-trip, but is it worth it to change locations and see more of the country?
For Vietnam I would stay somewhere in Hanoi, Bali in Denpasar, and for Thailand most likely Bangkok.
I'm still deciding what my budget will be, but I'm trying to keep it low (likely ~$500 not including plane tickets). I believe Vietnam is the cheapest of my choices here, but I'm also really drawn to Bali and Thailand so it's a hard decision to make.
Some suggestions on tour packages/experiences you guys especially enjoyed would also be awesome! I'm mostly looking at bicycle, nature, local village, and animal experiences, and I'm currently looking up recommended companies.
