WHV in Australia as an American, will my visa application get rejected without proof of funds document attached?
Hi r/solotravel! I'm currently planning out my working holiday in Australia and have a question for those who have recently gone through the process.
I was filling out my Visa application today but on one of the final pages they asked for documentation to prove my funds. The thing is, I won't have the $$ in my account until just before I leave. I'm selling my car, selling my bike, cashing out money from my work retirement account, and getting my tax returns in the next month. By the time I leave I will have well over 5000AUD, but I don't have a way to prove it right now. Especially with my car, I can't sell it now otherwise I can't get to work etc.
I've read previous threads that said they had gotten their visa easily without providing documentation, but on the application website they asked me to provide a reason for why I wasn't able to attach the required documents. It seemed like it wasn't optional.
If I were to wait until I have my funds sorted, then applied for the visa, how quickly could I expect for it to go through? Google tells me as little as 48 hrs, but what was the time frame for any of you who have gotten the visa?
I think I'm just being impatient. I would hop on the plane tomorrow if I could!
