Ultimate 1 Week Solo Travel - Suggestions
What's up!
I'm a 25 year old guy who is desperately looking to capture as many new experiences and get the most out of 10 days of travel. I'm a planner, but also the type to allow the day to slip through your hands. What I do for work is extremely exhausting given the hours & stress levels, so I'm looking for some advice or suggestions on how to make the most out of my PTO situation.
In 5 months, I'll be moving from Nashville to either Chattanooga, TN or Phoenix, AZ. I know, these options are a bit different in climate, lifestyle, region, etc. Phoenix is really drawing to me for a new type of landscape to live-in as well as all the positive stuff I've heard. Chattanooga is my safe bet by means of getting back into school to finish up a degree I'm not interested in, but will allow me to not live pay check to pay check (accounting).
Should I roadtrip my 2000 beast of a 4Runner across as many states as possible, catch a flight to Phoenix and couchsurf.com/AirBnB, or do something more outrageous, completely different, or out of the country? Outside of the US, I've only been to Mexico. Canada is a real dream of mine to see along with Austria, Japan, and England being 1, 2, and 3 on the list of desirable travel destinations.
My plan right now:
Budget: $600
Flight to Phoenix on 3/21. CouchSurf for 3 nights. AirBnB for 3 nights. Catch a comedy show, go out with locals (through couchsurf), hike, try restaurants, take a 3 day silent meditation retreat. This would give me a little bit of everything I'm looking to get out of a vacation: stress release via new experiences.
Please give me any suggestions on making the most out of a solo travel with a slim budget of $600. Worth noting, I can spend as much as $1,000, but I want to stick to my goal of $600.
I will follow up with pictures!
