25yo Woman Solo Travelling for the First Time in Southeast Asia
Hi! So I've had a shitty couple of years and happen to be at a point in my life where I have no major commitments tying me down so I want to take this opportunity to go travelling, I'm a 25yo woman from the UK looking to solo travel/backpack for the first time so would love some advice/recommendations for locations for a trip!
- Hoping to go for around 4 weeks but I would possibly stay longer if I found work out there
- Budget of ~£1500, looking to mostly stay in hostels and eat cheap to keep things on a budget
- Looking for sun, beaches, clear seas for snorkeling, scenery, fun things to do, hiking, likeminded people to meet, some cool local wildlife to see would be a plus too
- I'd love to go in August/September time to coincide with my 26th birthday but I'm flexible
- As a young woman who hasn't travelled much before I'd ideally like somewhere I can travel solo and not be too on edge so somewhere I'm somewhat safe?
I'm currently really considering Bali as, as far as I can tell, it ticks all of these boxes but also looking at Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka etc. so any advice from people who've spent time travelling in these places, or if you have any other recommendations, it would be massively appreciated as there's just so much information out there to take in and I just wanna make sure that I make the right decision/put my savings to good use!
Thanks! ✌️
