Studying in Haifa, Israel
Hello all! I (20f) am a long time lurker of this subreddit and I thought I should make my first post!
Anyway, I am traveling in Haifa, Israel in February, and I will be studying at the university for a semester. As someone who has never been to the Middle East, and originates from a moderately chilly place, I have a few travel questions about this area.
1: Clothing? What can I expect from the weather up on Mt. Carmel? I have purchased a few articles of clothing that are made of linen and cotton so that I will have clothes that breathe easily. Any other suggestions?
2: Power. What sort of power adapter will I need for Israel? There are many confusing links online about type H, but also about how the outlets also accept European adapters. Will I be ok if i take my European adapters with me, or do I need to purchase a different kind?
3: I will be studying Arabic at the University and would love to know of some cafes or restaurants where they speak it frequently because I really need to get practice in.
4: Places to go and things to see? I am not looking for the stereotypical places such as the Bahai Gardens, I would like to know local gems. I am also interested in the nature, so is there any moderate hiking trails that I will have access to?
5: Is there anything that I am not asking? I will take any advice and wisdom from you lovely people!
Thank you all for your time.
