(rant) PEOPLE!!! Solo Travel is FINE Everywhere in the WORLD!!! Stop asking!!
Seriously people. It seems like every other question here is "can I go here alone?" The answer is YES. It is ALWAYS yes. If you want to go there alone, go! The only exception is to a war zone and that wouldn't be safe for a couple either so that point is moot. Anywhere on the planet you want to go? You can go there. Alone, with friends, with family, on your hands, on your knees... whatever. You can go. There is no need to ask. Solo travel is easier today than at any time in history. There are a plethora of tools to help you meet people, deal with language barriers, etc. There is literally no reason why you should not go anywhere you want to go if you're solo. Just be smart. Educate yourself about the place. Know of any safety concerns. But, FFS, just go if you want to go!
FWIW, I'm a solo female traveler who has been to more than half the countries in the world solo, half of those before smart phones were even a glimmer on Steve Jobs' eye and shock I didn't die.
Just fucking go.
