I'm 24 from northeast US and looking at a potential solo trip to Mexico City next month. I'm looking at a relatively short trip, about 5 days. I understand Spanish pretty well and am able to communicate in it, though slowly.

I have solo traveled once before, for just under two weeks in Europe. I have a few questions that I would appreciate any advice on.

Immunizations/medication. What do I need, or what is the best resource for finding out what I need? I am very healthy and up to date on what I need while at home, and the only thing I take is birth control.

Is public transportation safe and reliable? What is the best way to get from the airport to my accommodation?

What hostels would you recommend? I'm looking for a social/party hostel with other solotravelers.

How LGBTQ friendly is Mexico, and what are some resources for researching how LGBTQ friendly a place is?
