Need help with road trip/vacation ideas with KIDS!

The wife and I are looking to do a road trip this summer. We have a 3 and 5 year old and live in Iowa. We are looking for ideas for a road trip for the kids this summer. Not looking to go to the coasts but willing to drive a decent amount (10 hours or so if needed). We are saving the big trips, such as Disney World/Land, and national parks for when they are a bit older. We are thinking maybe the Wisconsin Dells, or Branson? My wife was also thinking about driving to Chicago to do some stuff, and head to Indianapolis for a children’s museum. We will be taking off a week of work sometime in June, so we will have around 8 days to work with. Hoping you guys can throw some ideas my way so we can see what else might be out there. TIA
