longtime lurker in need of some advice
Soooo. I need help. I've always taken a trip for my birthday each year. I'm outdoorsy and try to make a point to do some epic hiking on my birthday, which is hands down my favorite activity. The trips have taken me to some pretty cool places... Machu Picchu, Norwegian Fjords, Icelandic Waterfalls, Guatemalan volcanos... you get the idea. BUT! I've *always* gone with a friend or family member.
This year? Everyone has bailed/is bailing on me. gahhhh. Do I go alone? Y'all. I'm a longtime lurker here for a reason: the idea of solo travel simultaneously intrigues and terrifies me, especially as a solo female. Gahh. But its for my birthday. I don't want to sit at home in my sweats. Do I still go? Dumb question: do I... hike alone? Yeah, I know I'm a scaredy cat. Is going on a birthday trip alone... sad?
Give me all your encouragement or tough love to go, ha. And while we're at it, recommend a great place for me to visit!
