Last minute planning for late January trip?
I (18M) am currently on a gap year and I've managed to stay busy for the most part, but January will be completely free for me. I definitely think I'll regret it if I don't travel this year, so I'd like to solo travel through some countries in Europe for 1-2 weeks at the end of this month.
The last couple days I've just been researching various destinations and the logistics, but I just wanted to turn here for some extra guidance/suggestion/advice. What I'm looking at right now is visiting Copenhagen for several days, taking a night train to Amsterdam and spending some time there, then potentially to Rotterdam before entering Brussels. I've already been to Poland, Germany, and Czech Republic, and since I wanted to visit Denmark, I tried planning a trip along the northern part of Europe.
I know there definitely is a time crunch to get everything planned out and set to go before I leave (ex: Eurail pass need to ship to me in Los Angeles before I leave), and though it may not be the best, it definitely will be an adventure as I try to piece together this trip and push myself out of my comfort zone. I've been doing research all day and trying to figure stuff out on my own, but again, I wanted to ask for some helpful tips or suggestions. I am looking at hostels for accommodation. Transport will be through the Eurail Pass (Copenhagen card while in Denmark) and I'm also excited to explore via bike especially in Amsterdam.
Is there anything in particular I should be cognizant of? January will be cold, any tips for winter travel?
Thanks for your help in advance, aiming to make this a once in a lifetime adventure.
