How trustworthy are small airlines in Asia?
I've been looking at flights from Canada to do a six country tour in Asia and realized I could save about $700 by using Peach Air, AirAsia, TigerAir, MIAT, and VietJet instead of larger carriers like Korea Air, Asiana, and Qantas.
Is it worth the savings, or will I end up with greater headaches due to cancellations and delays on these smaller flights?
If a flight is overbooked or cancelled how long will it take to get a new flight out to keep up with my itinerary?
(I plan on booking my first 2-3 nights at hostels in each location and and one small day tour to get used to the area since it's my first non-resort trip.)
Thanks for your insight!
