Driving from Seattle to Gates of the Arctic Nat’l Park in Alaska. Planning for stops in Tombstone Territorial Park in Y.T., Denali, and other areas for hiking/backcountry nights/car camping. Recommendations?
At the end of next summer, one of my best friends and I are going to road trip from Seattle to Alaska (will fly back). Setting aside a preliminary three week timeline. Planning for a ton of time outdoors, stops for hiking, a few backcountry nights, standard car camping, and just kind of winging it. Looking for some recommendations in some areas. As of now here’s a few areas we have as options: - Backcountry night in the Whistler area - Driving slightly east through Kamloops (good wine!) to Mt Robson **My friend hasn’t been to Banff or Jasper so might consider starting the road trip in Calgary instead. If we went this route I would love to spend some time in Kananaskis Country, since I didn’t get to explore there during my previous Canadian road trip - At least 2 nights in Juneau/Glacier Bay - Tombstone Territorial Park - Set up in Fairbanks - Have some friends I can crash with here. So would be able to do some day hike trips/re-group here for trips around the area - Denali - Gates of the Arctic Nat’l Park
I’m relatively familiar with the trip from Vancouver to Banff/Jasper, as I spent 2 1/2 weeks on that road trip last year. So looking for most of the recommendations in NW BC, Y.T., And Alaska. All recommendations are appreciated.
