Canadian who wants to travel in the summer (4months or less) while working, what should I do?

I'm a undergrad student thinking of travelling in the summer after the spring semester ends, which is the end of april.

I don't have that much money saved up so I will need to be working in wherever country to make ends meet.

Since the duration is so short, will I need a working holiday visa?

And if I get a working visa, does anyone know if the 1 or 2 year limit of the visa will be used up if I only stay for 4months? Like is it a one time use sort of thing? -- once I leave the country will the visa expire even if I stayed less than the 2 years?
